Primary Kitchen Layouts

It’s really good to have a kitchen with a good layout inside our house. The layout does not only form certain visual images of the kitchen, but rather as an essential aspect to determine our workflow in the room. Hence, if you are intrigued to adopt one particular kitchen layout, try to examine whether or not it is suitable with the kitchen’s dimension and some other consideration.
These following kitchen layouts inspirations are presented as your work guidelines.

Kitchen Layouts

One-Wall Kitchen

This layout is presumably suitable with small kitchens, for instance those you have in a studio or flat. One-wall layout primarily needs only one wall to attach wall cabinets and countertop. There is not much space left in a kitchen with this layout, but the walkway opposite the countertop. Yet, it is pretty efficient if you do not plan to have heavy works in your kitchen.

Galley Kitchen

Galley layout looks like a double-one-wall-kitchen. So, you can have two walls, facing to one another, of which cabinets and countertops are attached on each of the walls. You can imagine that there is not almost any space wasted in this kind of layout. As long as you got a long corridor to transform it into such an efficient space, you could have this Galley layout. In addition, this type works flexibly in small-to-medium-sized kitchens.

L-Shape Kitchen

An airy kitchen atmosphere is, honestly, pretty good to have, but you should not have this L-Shape layout if your kitchen is quite large. This layout is highly recommended to be applied in small or medium kitchens, for its concept can help you maximize the limited space, even to its corners. L-Shape kitchens require two perpendicular adjoining walls, of which legs can be extended to the length of the walls.

Horseshoe Kitchen

This is one of kitchen layouts where you can put an island into it. Similar to the look of horseshoe, this kitchen layout requires three walls, forming a U-shape. Those three walls are where you can attach the cabinets and other fixture you need to have in the kitchen. No need to worry about the workflow and traffic low if you have this one, for it is a lot easier for you to cook and even have meals in the area. Thanks to the island which can give many things to the kitchen’s function.

Other kitchen layouts are basically modified forms of those explained layouts, so feel free to challenge your creativity as long as it suits your needs.
